Volunteers
"Volunteers are not paid; not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless."
-Unknown

The ICA is an organization run almost entirely by volunteers. Those with a passion for international hospitality have come together to accomplish some amazing things in the past year.

As a group we have:
  • Opened a center to facilitate coordination among internationally-focused organizations.
  • Raised funding through Austin's premiere social event, the International Consular Ball in partnership with one of our affiliates.
  • Sponsored seminars on international business and the global economy.
  • Hosted over a dozen delegations at the ICA from almost as many countries, generating goodwill for Austin.
  • Presented to almost two dozen organizations about the ICA.
  • Provided high levels of customer service to our Affiliates and the international community.
  • Informed the community on activities through the FYII newsletter.
  • Provided an opportunity for local internationally-focused businesses to promote their services through the newsletter.
Benefits to Volunteers
Involvement in ICA offers volunteers:

  • Networking opportunities with leaders in the international business and cultural community.
  • Development of new skills and experience.
  • Opportunities to meet interesting, culturally diverse and open-minded people.
  • An opportunity to make a difference in our communities.
  • Reduced or free admission to various ICA events.
Volunteers are involved at many levels from board member and program chairs, to decorations and even ushers. You may have several hours a week or several hours for a one-time event. It's entirely up to you.
