About Us
The International Center of Austin is a public/private partnership supporting business, education, and cultural opportunities between Austin and the rest of the world. By facilitating commerce, sharing knowledge and promoting understanding among the cultures of the world, the International Center promotes economic growth by strategically positioning Austin among the top internationally-focussed cities around the globe.

Born of the marriage between the International Partnership of Greater Austin and the Greater Austin International Coalition, the International Center of Austin works cooperatively with globally-focused organizations and businesses to promote growth for our city.

The role of the ICA is to:
  • Inform citizens of international activities that enhance local quality of life.
  • Involve civic leaders in international affairs, establishing global links to finance, commerce, education, art, tourism, culture, and social realms, integrating Austin into the world community.
  • Foster a healthy business climate, connecting Austin's industrial, financial and commercial institutions with the world economy.
  • Support international activities that encourage understanding, acceptance and appreciation for other cultures, people of all nationalities, and various faiths.
By mobilizing all sectors of Greater Austin, the ICA identifies, prepare for, and acts on beneficial international opportunities. Developing cooperation within both the public and the private sectors, the ICA establishes a synergy among:

Business and Trade
The ICA supports economic growth in greater Austin through cooperation with businesses, service organizations and overseas companies, to promote development, collaborative business models and the creation of new jobs.

Education
New educational opportunities, student diversity, and collaborative teaching models are at the heart of the ICA's focus on international educational exchange.

Culture
Cultural exchange facilitates understanding among the peoples of the world, encouraging collaboration and promoting peace, through participation in the arts, language, food and lifestyle.

Government
The ICA encourages cooperative regulation, networking, transportation, and the support of strategic alliances between Austin and other regions of the world.

Tourism
Fostering a strategic, coordinated effort, the ICA helps to further develop, package and promote Austin as a tourist destination.

Marketing and Public Relations
In a coordinated effort to promote Austin as an international city, the ICA seeks to build relationships, raise awareness, and promote Austin's image through coordinated marketing and public relations strategies.
